The Supervisor Micro-Learning (SML) Roundtables are an hour long professional development opportunity for supervisors to learn one new high impact strategy or tool that can be implemented immediately to further enhance leadership practices. After each session, participants will apply what they learn to their unit/department. After a month, the same group will gather to share their progress, learn from others experiences, and provide suggestions for next steps.

Emotional and social intelligence is the capacity for recognizing our own feelings and those of others, for motivating ourselves, and for managing emotions effectively in ourselves and in others. Individuals with high emotional and social intelligence work more effectively with others in leadership roles or as a member of a team. During this session, supervisors will explore the connection between Emotional and Social Intelligence and leadership effectiveness using the Emotional and Social Competency Inventory (ESCI). Using the results of the ESCI, supervisors will have an opportunity to identify developmental pathways to further enhance leadership effectiveness.
