Start Time: 12:15:00 PM
Location: Butler Library 181B
Desired Prerequisite: None
Course Length: 2 Hours

As a college or university changes, issues and systems can quickly increase in complexity, which can lead to change resistance. Many times these issues or systems cannot be “fixed” using traditional problem solving techniques to identify an "either/or" solution, because they are polarities, dilemmas, or paradoxes that have two or more right answers, which are interdependent. Participants in this session will learn how to identify and manage the polarities caused by organizational change. Specifically, participants will learn how to distinguish a manageable polarity from a solvable problem, identify polarities, select a polarity, and will map the polarity to a long-term resolution.
