The institutional budget process for Buffalo State s Core Instructional Budget (State Purpose Fund accounts) is administered annually during the spring semester and uses files resident on shared drives on the campus server. This brief introductory workshop will provide information about the budget process which establishes beginning-of-year departmental allocations, step-through the procedures for accessing files on the shared drives, and address related questions. After initial budget allocations are established in the annual process, the SMRT Application can be used throughout the year to monitor financial activity in the account.
Department chairpersons or directors interested in this session should contact the Budget Office (budgetoffice@buffalostate.edu or ext. 4312) to ensure appropriate authorization is in place at least two weeks prior to the workshop. Authorization for this budget process application is separate from all other account authorizations. While not required, one session of training is advised for those who will participate in the annual budget process. Please contact the Budget Office if questions.
