Provost's Incentive Grants
Applications are now being accepted for the 2005–2006 Provost's Incentive Grants. Awards of up to $1,000 are available to tenured and tenure-track faculty members to assist with travel, research, exhibitions, and other scholarly and creative activities. Preference will be given to those projects that could result in refereed publications, juried exhibitions or invitational solo showings, and/or presentations at professional conferences.

A selection committee composed of Buffalo State College faculty will read and evaluate all applications. An important consideration in the selection of grant awardees is the likelihood that the applicant's professional development in research, scholarship and/or creativity will benefit.

Applications with further information are available in the Academic Affairs Office, Cleveland Hall 519, or on the Academic Affairs Web site. Applications are due in the Academic Affairs Office (please submit a paper copy) no later than 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2006. Please call Janet Ramsey, ext. 4554, with any questions.

SUNY Policy Web Site
The State University of New York has developed a Web site of university-wide policies and procedures, www.suny.info/policies. The site contains governing policies, procedures, and forms for the university that are currently in effect.

The objective of the Web site is to provide a common resource for employees, students, and parents to find information and answers to questions concerning the policies of the State University of New York. The site provides an easily searchable format for users to locate specific information. There are three ways to navigate the site: alphabetically by policy, procedure, or form; by category; and full-text search.

Please note that a responsible System Administration office and the college sector(s) to which the policy is applicable (i.e., state-operated campus or community college) are identified at the beginning of each document. In addition to the documents created by the university, users are directed to various external Web sites (i.e., Office of the State Comptroller, Office of General Services, Governor's Office of Employee Relations, federal agencies, and professional associations) that provide additional information pertaining to the everyday activities of the university and its affiliated programs and related entities.

Although not all documents have been revised/updated or legally reviewed for the new Web site at this time, the majority of SUNY's policies and procedures are now available. SUNY will continue to add documents as they are completed.
