Honors Convocation
Thank you to all who participated in this year's Honors Convocation on April 25. This event, one of the oldest traditions at Buffalo State, recognizes the academic accomplishments of our students and the faculty and staff who work hard to create an environment conducive to learning. Congratulations are extended to the convocation committee, and gratitude is extended to everyone who participated in and supported the event.

Commencement and Live Webcast
Buffalo State's 130th commencement will be held Saturday, May 11 in the Sports Arena. Baccalaureate ceremonies begin at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and the master's hooding and certificate of advanced study ceremony takes place at 6:00 p.m. A festive reception in the Campbell Student Union Quad will immediately follow each ceremony. The celebrations honor December 2001 graduates and May and August 2002 degree candidates.

United States Sen. Charles Schumer will deliver the commencement address at the baccalaureate ceremonies. Buffalo Public Schools Superintendent Marion Cañedo will receive the Distinguished Alumnus Award and deliver the commencement address during the master's and C.A.S. ceremony. Correction
The course revision posted as FAR 200 Drawing II in the May 2 issue of the Bulletin should be FAR 102 Drawing II.

The following have been approved by the Senate Curriculum Committee and will be forwarded to the president for final review and approval:

Election Survey
The spring 2002 Senate election recently concluded, and the Senate Bylaws and Elections Committee seeks feedback from eligible voters, regardless of whether they voted.

Information will be collected from the survey anonymously. The survey is available through any of the following means:

  1. Complete the Web-based version (anonymity is ensured), available at www.buffalostate.edu/orgs/senate. Note: Internet Explorer is required. Enter the following information in the required fields:

    User Name: your user name (e.g., publicjq)
    Password: your password
    Domain: bsclogon

  2. Request a Microsoft Word version via e-mail from Sharon Cramer at cramersf@buffalostate.edu.
  3. Pick up a paper copy from the College Senate Office, Cleveland Hall 417C.

Please return completed surveys by Tuesday, May 21 via e-mail (responses will be separated from senders' names) or campus mail.
