Applied Research and Service at CDHS
Integral to the Buffalo State College
mission is the enhancement of "the quality of life in Buffalo and the
larger community." We accomplish this through "excellence in teaching
and scholarship, cultural enrichment, and service."
With respect to scholarship and service,
Buffalo State has an excellent resource in the Center for Development
of Human Services (CDHS). The mission of CDHS is to "improve the
performance of human service organizations through training,
evaluation, technology, and organizational development." In order to
continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of its varied
programs and trainings, CDHS needs the scholarly expertise of Buffalo
State faculty.
Faculty partnerships with CDHS benefit not
only the college as a whole, but also each faculty member who
participates as a CDHS fellow. Such scholarship and service is critical
for the academic growth of the college community, and faculty
contributions of time and effort are encouraged. Receiving a CDHS
minigrant or reviewing curricula for CDHS will be recognized as applied
scholarship and/or service.
