If you see a animated picture (it may take a minute to load), then your Web browser supports Java.
If you do not see the pattern, then your browser either does not support Java or Java is turned off. If you are using an older browser that does not support Java, you should upgrade to a new version of Internet Explorer on a PC or Firefox on a Macintosh. Firefox is an alternative browser for either platform that is compatible with ANGEL. (For details, you may refer to the Recommended Browsers and Computers for ANGEL page.)
If you know your browser is fairly new and you need assistance enabling Java, you may call the Computing Help Desk at 716-878-4357, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, while you are at the computer in question, and the Help Desk staff will help you enable Java. When you have enabled Java, return to this page and try the Java test again.
Java is a programming language used to make programs that add functionality to Web sites. Some tools within ANGEL are actually Java applications, called "applets."
